Dr. Bill's Commentaries

Questions from readers about diabetes   (May 13, 2007)

I’ve noticed that sometimes readers of these blogs ask interesting questions - that have nothing to do with the topic of the blog.

Recent examples:

At a  discussion about sweeteners available at restaurants:

Hi there I have had some problems with numb toes...I waited 2 months to go to the doctor because it was just the big toe on my right foot and had no idea it could be such an issue...when the big toe on my left foot went numb I called the doctor. Wow...I have neurotherapy in my legs and feet…I am not good at this stuff.and worried the neurologist and podiatrist said there is no cure? I can only slow the progression?

And at a discussion about what to bring to the hospital:

I'm trying to find sox without seams on the toes. Can you help me please?

There are lots of places on the Internet where such questions are answered by health professionals (including at my [previous] website, the Diabetes Monitor), but as of this moment, there’s no Q&A section at MyDiabetesCentral.com.

So, the obvious question:

Should MyDiabetesCentral.com set up a Q&A section, or should readers be referred to other already-existing Q&As?
